Therapy I |
The Therapy I Course is an intensive class involving extensive hands-on work. The practical sessions of this course include special techniques for the joints, the head (including intra-oral) and abdomen. They introduce the student to therapeutic applications. You will use these movements and the next level of movements in routines effective in treating all parts of the body. A thorough review and update of MLD® theory will be presented. A review of all Basic techniques / movements of MLD® and sequences is given. In the theory sessions, advanced theory and current research is discussed as well as a review of Basic theory. An oral or written and a practical exam are given to test the student's competence in Basic techniques and theory. Be prepared to practice and study. Those who complete the Therapy I are qualified to attend the Therapy II/III course, the third and fourth of the courses for full certification as a Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist. (For Detailed Course Syllabus Click Here.) This is a Dr Vodder School International course. (Practical 32 hrs., Theory 8 hrs.)(More details about DVSI) Manual Lymph Drainage is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that has a powerful effect on the body. Research in Australia, Europe and North America has proven its efficacy as a stand-alone treatment and in combination with other therapies. This technique was developed in France in 1932 by Emil and Estrid Vodder. MLD® has grown to be the most effective manual technique to assist lymph flow and aid in drainage of the tissues, rejuvenate the dermis, and relieve stress and tension. In Europe, MLD is a procedure recognized by national health insurance plans. In Germany, it is now the 3rd most prescribed physical therapy technique. MLD® is a systematic series of precise movements that stimulates an increase in the normal functioning of the Lymphatic System. This promotes healthy connective tissue, enhances the body's immune response, relieves pain, and sedates the sympathetic nervous system. Thus it promotes the body’s healing ability in many diverse applications, for example: sports injuries, scar tissue, pre and post operative care, as well as chronic inflammatory conditions, such as acne and rosacea.
