Therapist Course Prerequisites |
Basic Course Prerequisites
- Enrollment is open to the following:
Licensed or Certified Health Care Practitioners: MD, PT, PTA*, OT, OTA*, RN, MT (see below), DC, DO, DDS, ND, Physician’s Assistant*, etc. Licensed Estheticians. Family members seeking to provide care for that patient only. For Massage Therapists: A minimum of 500 hours in the curriculum of a massage therapy school or successful completion of the US National Certification (NCBTMB) exam is required.

Constraints - Additional Information: Each prospective Basic student will be required to sign an agreement neither to teach MLD nor to use MLD as therapy without specific certification by the Dr. Vodder School.
Prospective Basic Students whose sole purpose is to aid a relative requiring MLD must submit a written agreement to use MLD for that relative and particular condition only.
Therapy I Prerequisites
For Therapy I, enrollment is open to persons who have satisfactorily completed the Dr. Vodder School Basic course for Therapists.
Therapy II & III Prerequisites
For Therapy II & III, enrollment is open to persons who have successfully completed Therapy I. Documentation of health-care practitioner status is required before the Therapy II and III certificate will be awarded*.
Constraints - Additional Information: Prospective Therapy I Students will be required to sign an agreement neither to teach MLD nor to use MLD to treat lymphedema until certified at the Therapy III level by the Dr. Vodder School.
Prospective Therapy II & III students will be required to sign an agreement not to teach MLD and to use MLD within the professional practice acts of her/his state or province.

Esthetician Course Prerequisites |
BASIC NECK &
FACE PREREQUISITES /
For Estheticians, Massage Therapists, etc. as above. - Enrollment is open to the following:
Estheticians who are licensed to practice in their state or province and have completed a recognized program in Esthetics are qualified to take: (Note: Medical professionals, LMTs, etc. are also accepted.)
3-Day Basic Face & Neck course (A) and/or the 5-Day Basic Body course (B)
ADVANCED COURSES FOR ESTHETICIANS - Enrollment is open to the following:
Estheticians who have satisfactorily completed the 3-Day Basic Face & Neck (A) or the 5-Day Basic Body course (B) are qualified to take the:
Three day Advanced Neck and Face course (C)
Estheticians who have satisfactorily completed the five day Basic Body course (B) are qualified to take the:
Five day Advanced Body course (D)
Constraints - Additional Information: Each Basic Course (A) or (B) student will be required to sign an agreement neither to teach MLD nor to use MLD as Therapy.
In addition to the above constraint, each prospective Advanced course (C) & (D) student will be required to sign an agreement to apply MLD within the professional practice acts of her/his state or province.
